Recruitment is FUN!

So what happened to the bars? Ok, not all sisters would be there if recruitment weren't happening, but some would be...at El Rods? I had the pleasure of visiting just the other day. Ah the joys of Mexican cuisine! Queso is known for a trip to the restroom after a particularly sodium laden meal. Have to say it was pretty delish, considering I only had lettuce, shrimp, avocado, tomato and...onion? Avocado should have been enough to keep me up all night....

but it didn't. Gratefully. But I did have a fiasco with my salad. So when you hear "Chef Salad" what comes to mind? Lettuce, veggies and...not chicken. Thus was my fate, the pescatarian, subjected to land fowl on my plate. Superb. My friends, all of which were male in this particular setting made fun of my dining choice.

"You're such a little rabbit SF. Do you eat?" I don't eat chicken. Yeah. What was I saying? Ah yes, chicken. So after what seemed like an interminable span of time, eating chips and two refills of icewater later, my food arrives, in all it's glory. Small grilled shrimp were generously spread over a bed of succulent lettuce and juicy sliced tomatoes and avocado. Hungry yet? You should be. But I wasn't. After all that time, I had filled up on chips, salsa and agua. Nice. I'd successfully demolished half of my salad and some of my shrimp only to realize the impossible but inevitable truth: I'm not hungry anymore and I can't stuff this delicious meal into my shrinking stomach. Great. And the sad part was, it was actually tasty. After allowing the guys to eat off the rest of my shrimp, I managed to stuff the remainder of the lettuce. I hate that feeling. Why did I subject myself to it...again? It's lettuce I suppose? No harm done. Honestly. Minor bloating for a few hours. Legit. Given my small frame, it's difficult to hide when I eat...anything. So my dining adventure came to a close with my return to the realization that this was one of the last nights I could be out after 9 in such an establishment. Excellent. Welcome to Blacksburg, welcome to Greek life.

Much love,
